#PrayerOnThe100th 24-hour Prayer Event – Volunteer Opportunities

Attention prayer warriors! We need your help to make #PrayerOnThe100th happen. Read below for opportunities to support this event at UMCL or from your home.

What is #PrayerOnThe100th?

UMCL is bringing together faith organizations for a 24-hour prayer event from the 100th Day (April 30, 2025) through the National Day of Prayer (May 1, 2025).

The event is not affiliated with any national organization and is not a political event.  It’s simply a way to acknowledge that we see growing division and hurt in our communities and to provide prayer and spaces for prayer during these challenging times.

#PrayerOnThe100th is designed to unite us around our yearning for healing and a better world. Prayer is powerful! Imagine our unity in it.

#PrayerOnThe100th will engage people in our communities in prayer for healing. The event includes:

  • A virtual kickoff
  • Drive through prayer events at UMCL and at participating faith organizations
  • Spaces for one-on-one prayer and listening at UMCL and at participating faith organizations
  • A front porch prayer gathering at UMCL
  • And ways to uplift our community and our world to look more like Jesus.

Activities begin at 7:00 p.m. Central on Wednesday, April 30 and run through 7:00 p.m. Central on Thursday, May 1.

Ways to Volunteer

Our goal is to have volunteers praying for 24 hours!  Sign-up below to take a shift.

Sign up to pray for a one-hour block
the night of April 30

Volunteer to pray alongside several others between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Central in the UMCL sanctuary OR pray from the convenience of your own home.

Volunteers will be asked to pray for unity, healing, and a world that looks more like Jesus. Prayer guides and interactive materials will be available for those who wish to use them.

Note that for safety during the overnight event, the church will be locked and at least three people will be present.

Sign up to pray with those attending
drive-through prayer on May 1

Volunteer to help provide prayer alongside members of our community during the drive through prayer event at UMCL from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central on May 1.

Volunteers will help direct traffic or listen to the needs of community members who opt to drive through UMCL's parking lot and will pray with them. UMCL will also be open during this time for those who may wish to come inside to pray.

Sign up to pray for a 15-minute block

#PrayerOnThe100th is supported as a conference-wide event through the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.
