We all need someone to lean on when life gets challenging. UMCL’s caring community provides individualized support through difficult situations.
UMCL Prayer chain
UMCL is a community that prays together! Our bi-weekly prayer chain goes out via email to more than a hundred individuals dedicated to engaging in prayer for those within our community. Please note, that for privacy purposes, we ask that you only share the specific name of someone in your request if they have granted you permission to do so. Additionally, please know that the prayers will be read out loud during the following Sunday service which is live streamed worldwide. If you would prefer to not have your prayer read in church on Sunday then please note that in your prayer request.

Stephen Ministry
Do you or someone you know need someone to walk with during a difficult time of life? UMCL Stephen Ministers provide one-to-one Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, including:
- Loss of a loved one
- Hospitalization, illness, or aging
- Divorce or separation
- Loneliness, discouragement, or spiritual crisis
- Unemployment, job crisis, or financial stresses
- Caregiver stress or parenting challenges
- Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
- Relocation or separation from loved ones
- Recovery after an accident or disaster
- Incarceration
- Many other life changes
Stephen Ministers are caring Christian friends who listen, care, pray, support, and encourage without judgment. They have 50 hours of training in providing high-quality distinctively Christian care. Care is confidential; those receiving care and everything they discuss with their Stephen Minister remain private.
