Helping Hands: UMCL’s Medical Loan Closet

Helping Hands. UMCL Medical Loan Closet.

At the United Methodist Church of Libertyville (UMCL), we believe in caring for one another in practical, compassionate ways. One of the ways we live that out is through Helping Hands—our Medical Loan Closet ministry.

Helping Hands offers gently used medical equipment—such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, bath transfers, portable toilet seats and more—for short- or long-term loan to anyone in need. Whether you're recovering from surgery, assisting a loved one, or experiencing a temporary mobility challenge, Helping Hands is here to support you.

Inventory is limited and varies, depending on donations and current use, but we’ll do our best to help meet your needs or point you in the right direction.

If you are in need of equipment or would like to donate gently used items, please contact:

📞 Tom Plohr at (847) 278-7188
📧 tplohr73@gmail.com
or call the UMCL Office at (847) 362-2112

By donating or borrowing through Helping Hands, you’re joining a caring network of people committed to helping neighbors live with greater comfort, dignity, and independence.
