Advent Expressions: Longing for the Light | Wednesdays, December 3 & 17, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
As the season of Advent begins you are invited to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the hope Christ brings. This December, UMCL will host two special evenings designed to help you experience the spirit of Advent through creativity, prayer, and quiet reflection.
What to Expect
We’ll gather in community on Wednesdays, December 3 and 17, from 6:30–7:30 p.m., for a warm and contemplative worship experience. Each evening includes hands-on elements woven into our time of prayer, Scripture, and reflection—simple expressions of faith meant to help us notice the light that God is already stirring within and around us.
December 3: Create a simple painting inspired by Advent themes of hope, light, and promise. No artistic experience needed—just an open heart and willingness to try something new.
December 17: Join us for candle making as we reflect on Christ, the Light of the World, and the ways we are called to carry that light into our homes and communities.
Invite a friend, the more the merrier!
Who Is Invited?
Everyone. Truly. Advent Expressions is designed for people of all faith backgrounds and comfort levels, whether you love creative prayer practices or simply long for a quieter space in the midst of a busy season.
Come As You Are
This is a gentle, welcoming opportunity to slow down, listen for God, and prepare for Christmas in a meaningful way. Bring a friend, a family member, or simply yourself—this time is for you.
